Bogdan Large Trout ReelA great Bogdan Large Trout reel, set up for LHW. 3 1 4" in diameter with a 31 32" spool width. 5. 5 ounces in weight and with capacity to hold lines up to a #7 with 50 yards of 20# backing. Good used condition with some moderate rim rash on the frame edges, but little wear elsewhere. The original owner's initials "R. L. T." are engraved in block letters in the sideplate on the winding side. "R. L. T" is for Princess Raimonda Lanza di Trabia, a Bogdan
The reel was made in England for Orvis by Hardy
The ferrules fit together nice and tight as they should
Capacity is WF6F+ 100/20lb
The handle grasp on the reel is custom and made from a whale's tooth
For sale here is a very nice reel from Farlow's - a 3 3/4 inch Heyworth reel with lots of original leading remaining
The stamp on the butt cap reads:
10" frame width
including the backing
Keeper ring also on wrap flat
The corrosion on the male ferrule does not allow me to assess the rod action or straightness
For sale here is a Payne Model 198 bamboo rod in excellent original condition
A few closed seams show here and there
