Oil on copper in silver mount. Circa. 1700. 5. 5 by 6. 5 cms overall. Provenance: Ex. Collection of Ernest Salaman. His label to reverse. Richter was born in Stockholm initially trained as a silversmith, he settled in London in 1702 where his compatriots Hans Hysing and Michael Dahl had thriving practices. He successfully established

and thus launched an illustrious career that included designing costumes and stage sets
offering each of them one half of the shell
He studied at The Royal College of Art between 1914 and 16 and after War Service completed his studies there
