Gary Howells Fly Rod 8’ 2/2 #5A very nice Gary Howells fly rod, 8', 2 piece, 2 tips, built for a #5 line. 3. 8 ounces. Medium to slowish action. Serial #5128. Very light use with the faint hint of cosmetic casting cracks at the ferrules and the varnish on the chrome guides is worn at the inner part of the guide, but that's about it. The perforated reel foot has been filed

This reel is in used condition with some modest rim rash around the outer frame edges (mostly concentrated opposed the reel foot

The chopsticks (split internodes) are spliced maintaining the geometry of the original culm and the splices are staggered in the splines very much like a 3-3-3 pattern of node staggering

The reverse half wells grip is 6 5/8" in length with moderate soiling though the cork remains quite smooth

The hallmarks of the Zeitlos rods are smoothness
