1980's Yamaha Japan BX-1 Headless Neckthrough Bass (Black)Made in Japan in the late 80's, just have another look at the pics before you read the rest of the description because it really should sell itself on looks alone.. Mahogany body with a maple mahogany neckthrough construction and what the catalog lists it as "striped ebony" fingerboard (860mm scale length with 24 frets and a 38mm nut width), it weighs a nimble 3kg's. Looks to be all original with the factory Yamaha headless system and passive bass

Made in either China or Korea and sold to the Japanese market

loaded with the Fender Ultima Sound preamp system so it sounds as good plugged in as it does acoustically

The previous owner loaded with with a pair of active EMG's (original pickups not included) controlled by a pair of volume/tone knobs and a three-way pickup selector

this is EG model wears a subtle plaintop brown sunburst finish

Loaded with the aforementioned Fender USA Texas Special pickups controlled by a 5-way toggle mounted to a nice off-white 3-ply pickguard

Accented by a pair of LH-100 humbuckers
